Dark/Ghost Type Gym Leader - Arthur

A dark gloomy boy who grew up struggling and living with what he had.

Summerized OC Sheet - 1 | 2

A current timeline of events detailing Arthur's life since birth.

Early Life

Born in Unova, Arthur had a weak constitution, despite this he grew to be a lot more active than one would expect. Given much care from his mother and told to be strong by his father, the family shared a tight bond. His mother, an avid reader and professional home cook, would share her passions with him. His father, a researcher and part-time adventurer, would guide Arthur’s interests in the world. Their impact led him to be curious, to always indulge in questions, and to lead a life with a foot forward. His favorite stories were ones of adventure, told in books or by his father. Recalling every story before night, he dreamt of exploring the world and seeing the different types of pokemon his father described.

Arthur would then develop his interest in pokemon due to similar stories. His motivation to become something greater began even as a small promise to his parents to be strong and protect them.

Charged Catastrophe

Now 10 years old, Arthur begins to travel for his summer vacation. Academics bring Arthur a lot of joy, but as summer approaches, Arthur's freedom leaves him to desire something different. Arthur's father recommends a trip to the western mountains of the Unova region. They arrive at the airport and decide to enter Chargestone Cave, a cave known to hold electricity that allows pokemon to absorb and feed off the energy.

Depending on the season, the cave's electric properties begin to fluctuate. During the summer the crystals vibrate at harsher frequencies, allowing current to circulate through the cave's internal circuit. However, the winter causes the particles to slow down, causing the frequency and current to lower. Pokemon tend to hibernate and become docile during the winter, leaving the summer to be a more active season with Galvantulas and Joltik crawling around. Klink and Klinklangs can be seen around as well.

As the summer season keeps the pokemon active, Arthur's family suggests staying on the main floor of the entrance to avoid altercations. However, seeing the crystals begin to physically vibrate, the pokemon sprawled around absorbing as much energy as they could. Despite this, the crystals would not stop shaking, leading to tremors and a small quake that could be felt in the village. Arthur would lose his balance, his family following suit moments later, leaving everyone on the ground. The crystals would soon discharge, arcing toward the ground and leaving shards of crystal to shoot out at lethal speed. Running, Arthur finds himself nearing the entrance before feeling his legs give out, collapsing to the floor, and slowly losing consciousness, unable to see his parents before his last moments of vision.

Arthur, now awoken in a hospital bed, is left shaking in scalding tears. Being informed of the incident, Arthur could only notice the emptiness of the room. Left to himself, sharp pain residing in his thighs, waist, and hands, there was hardly anything to feel other than immense sadness. He was admitted to an orphanage a week after his injuries slowly recovered, leaving him alone in a single bed against the wall in his room. Untouched meals, sprawled unread books, and his body holding on to his empty emotions were left to sulk in the dark soulless room. His struggle would last for years.
